David Gillham
Family:
David
is married to Harriett, a teacher at Kennesaw Mountain High School,
and his mother lives in Smyrna. Harriett and David live in
Marietta with their cat, Keats. They have a mountain getaway in Rabun
County, which they enjoy escaping to twice a month.
What
is your background in running?
David began running when he was 22
and determined that he wanted a way to stay in shape and feel good. David
was an avid runner until 1999, when unfortunately, he
developed knee problems, had two surgeries, and eventually had to give up
running completely. To stay in shape now, David walks
and bikes at the Silver Comet Trail as well as regularly workouts
at the gym.
What
is your favorite running trail?
My favorite trail is still Kennesaw
Mountain.
What
do you think is the most pertinent issue in running today?
David believes that the most crucial
issue in running is to preserve a safe and beautiful environment or
running trails for runners.
What other organizations, teams, or other
activities are you involved with?
David belongs to the Atlanta Track Club and is a
former member of Chattahoochee Road Runners and the Hash House
Harriers.
What do you hope Runcobb will accomplish?
I want RunCobb to be an organization
that supports all issues that have to do with running: whether that is
helping and coaching youth groups, preserving running trails, or
just encouraging people to exercise.
